Exciting Upcoming Events
January 19, 2017, Project Planning—Ever sit down with a cup of coffee and your new project and the next thing you know it’s six months later? In our January session Mark Strang will uncover some of the mystery of new projects. Most new turners are nervous starting a project and performing what appear to be complex operations. Mark will try to take away some of the mystery and create a comfortable feeling when attacking raw stock and provide tips and strategies for roughing out a piece of wood and performing finishing operations once the piece has dried.
Quarterly Turning Challenge
March 16, 2017—Turn a finial longer than 6" as one continuous piece no thicker than 1" Longest finial gets the prize.
