Welcome to Richmond Woodturnersgallery samples

Richmond Woodturners, previously known as Woodturners Anonymous of Richmond, was started in May of 1997. We are a group of people who love wood and love to turn wood. We love to have fun and share our ideas and expertise with each other. We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Woodcraft in Richmond, Virginia located at 9862 West Broad Street (804-355-3945). We invite anyone else who loves wood to join us.

Sid & Penny Mace's picnic is scheduled for September 18th from 12:00pm - 4:00pm. Sid has been gracious about providing a wonderful day's activity and we should start thinking about attending. As far as what is needed in the area of items/entrees, a list will be available to choose from on the form and a record will be kept and updated online as to what items have been chosen or what is left and still needed. Carpooling - It is a nice country drive about an 1.5 hour from Mechanicsville to Reedville so carpooling is a consideration. Let Lee Scarbrough know if you are interested.

FELLOW WOODTURNERS

This years Virginia Symposium is in Fisherville, VA, October 23rd and 24th

"It's Your Turn 2" to be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 23 & 24, 2010 in Fishersville, VA.  You should have received, or will receive very shortly, a package in the mail with our flyers announcing our Symposium with its unique hands-on format that was a big hit with the attendees at our last Symposium in 2008.  With your help we believe 2010 will be even a bigger hit.  At your club meetings and events between now and October 23, please announce the Virginia Symposium and hand out the flyers you received in the mail to all of your members who you think may have an interest in attending.  Please explain to them that they will have a wide variety of turning topics to see demonstrated by an expert Mentor who will then hand the tool over to members in the audience and let them give it a try.  Learning is best done by doing.  Also, there will be nationally know vendors there giving special "Symposium Pricing on their many quality products.  I strongly urge you to go to our website,
